Jazbec Estate

Jožef and his wife Silva Jazbec were originally known for their tavern in Tupelče, which built its reputation on homemade prosciutto and open wine. In the 1980s, the kitchen began to appeal to more discerning guests, offering bottled wine from the local estate.

They had a desire to make a Teran-based sparkling wine. Surrounded by many doubters and few believers in their project, Jože greeted the first public presentation with the exclamation, “I’ve done it!”. Despite everything, we would have said in literary Slovenian, but the dialect was more appropriate for the name of the brand: Château Intanto was born.
