Unforgettable tastes, rich tradition, exceptional wine-growing; attributes that the Romans knew about 2000 years ago, in combination with state-of-the-art technology and exceptional knowledge in the cultivation of wine grapes and wine production. All this and more is hidden in the flavors and aromas of the oldest and most rewarded wineries in Slovenia – the Ptuj Wine Cellar.
The grapes ripen on the famous locations of the wine-growing region of Styria Slovenia, more precisely in the suburbs of Haloze and Srednje Slovenske gorice. Vineyards spread over the steep slopes of mostly terraced slopes of the left and right banks of the Drava River. The grapes ripen along the tops of the hills, reaching up to 400 m above sea level, and the following wine varieties are especially successful: Riesling, Furmint, Yellow Muscat, Rhine Riesling, Traminer and some varieties that are cultivated elsewhere in the world, such as white Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot blanc. Of the red vine varieties in this area, they cultivate Blue Frankish, Žametno črnino, Zweigelt, Gamay and Pinot noir.
