Description

It has a distinct fruity character, a little tannins and slightly higher acids and alcohol. It requires excellent, sunny position and low reed, only in this way they can produce the right Barbero with the smell of cherry, currants and forest fruits. The taste is fresh, lively and rich, in the background we detect dry plums and jams.

Due to its low tannins and pronounced fruit, it is also great even if it matures only for a short time in stainless steel containers, and due to higher alcohol and extract, it also develops well with aging in oak barrels.

The farm is located in the village of Zalošče in the heart of the Vipava valley. Excellent locations and well-preserved vineyards are the greatest wealth and foundation for the production of good wines. They stretch on the slope above the Vipava River. The wine-growing tradition of the Saksida family goes back to the past.

Their vineyards lie on the slopes of Lepenik, Gmajna, Lisičnik and Špegla. Varieties which grow in their vineyards are; Chardonnay, Pinot gris, Merlot, Cabernet sauvignon, Ribolla, Pinot noir, Zelen, Barbera, Pinot blanc and Malvasia.
