Peneči Teran – Chateau intanto

The sparkling teran is a child of love, commitment to the Karst Earth, loyalty to himself and the mother of nature. It is a search for perfection that does not follow the written formulas, but reflects the intertwining of daily insights and years of experience, personal maturation and happy coincidences.

The wines remain on fine lees unusually long, even after ten years and more, because only then does the extract rich teran calm so much that it allows for degreing.

Basic wine matures in wooden barrels, and then in a bottle on fine lees in the ideal environment of the underground cellar, a former water reservoir for the supply of steam locomotives at the Štanjel railway station.

The wine is distinctly dark in color, rich foam and sparkling bubbles that are most expressed in original narrow flutes. The ripe fruit flowers are dominated by tiny forest fruits, the crust of butter pastries is felt, all connected by the smell of tree resin cherries and plums.
