Slovenia has three wine-growing regions, comprising nine wine-growing districts, all of which have their own distinctive characteristics depending on their location. Podravje includes Styria and Prekmurje, while Posavje comprises Bizeljsko-Sremic, Dolenjska and Beła Krajina. The Primorska wine-growing region covers the Vipava Valley, the Karst, Goriška Brda and Slovenian Istria.
