“We live under the wine now, in the land of paradise,” wrote the Slovenian poet Simon Gregorčič, who had lived in Branik for many years. Right here, in the Braniška valley in Vipava wine-growing region, is the Bizjak estate, which through several generations in the most nature friendly way nurtures the wine and strives to produce the best grapes, which are the basis of top wines.

The vineyards are planted in selected locations according to the needs and characteristics of each variety. They cultivate more than 7 ha of vineyards in which typical grape varieties for this part of the Vipava Valley are planted, from autochthonous to international.

In the production of each grape variety and the location of the vineyard, they choose the right time of harvest according to the performed analyzes and their own assessment based on many years of experience. All grapes are plucked by hand into crates when diligent pickers make the first selection of grapes already in the vineyard. Picking begins in the early morning hours,  special attention is paid to the shortest possible time from harvesting to processing in the cellar, as this is crucial to avoid unnecessary oxidation.
