Angel Red Reserva 2021 represents the highest expression of the Batič winery and is produced only in truly exceptional vintages.
The first Angel Reserva was a non-vintage cuvée, created from outstanding harvests in 2006, 2007 and 2009. It was followed by Angel Red Reserva 2020, which marked the beginning of a new chapter for this prestigious wine.
The third edition, Angel Red Reserva 2021, reflects the character of an extraordinary vintage, shaped by a long and warm Indian summer that extended deep into autumn. The Merlot from the Livišče vineyard was harvested on October 4th, at optimal ripeness.
The wine is a pure and unembellished expression of Merlot. After three weeks of maceration, it matured for 27 months in carefully selected oak barrels. It was bottled unfiltered, in accordance with biodynamic principles and during a carefully chosen lunar phase.
Angel Red Reserva 2021 is a limited release and a tribute to the unique Vipava Valley site of Livišče — a wine created for long aging and for moments that linger long after the glass is empty.
