Description
The Artwork line is a line of the best wines from the Kristančič cellar. They are bottled only with the best vintages. After fermentation, the two varieties are aged separately for 24 months in mostly new barriques. The best barrels are then typified according to the taste of the winemaker.
It is a dense dark red colour with purple tints and an implied rich body. The bouquet is intoxicating, with hints of ripe red fruit, especially ripe plums and blackberries, which are already turning to jam. Graphite, leather, pepper, vanilla, liquorice, forest undergrowth in the background. All nicely rounded and waiting to be confirmed with the first sip. On the palate, it is impressive, with bold tannins balanced by just the right level of alcohol and salinity. Notes of ripe fruit and marmalade create a semblance of sweetness behind the bold structure of an extremely layered wine.
