Description

After 3 weeks of maceration of fully ripe and healthy grapes, the wine was aged for 24 months in new and second-hand french wood barriques. Unfiltered.

The colour is deep ruby. The bouquet is pronounced, varied, surprisingly youthful for such an old wine. There are fresh, appropriate notes of red fruits, and notes of black pepper intermingled with dramatic notes of dark red fruits, slightly smoky, undergrowth.

On the palate it is dry, with lively acids, warm, the tannins are fully ripe, and the flavours are varied, as on the nose.

The Dveri-Pax winery continues the more than 800-year-old Benedictine tradition of winemaking in north-eastern Slovenia. With respect for nature and tradition, and following the trends in the wine industry, they cultivate 73 hectares of their own vineyards.

The vines are cultivated in a nature-friendly way. The grapes are harvested by hand, gently separated from the stalks, and then their knowledge, experience and tradition are successfully combined with the most modern wine-making technologies.
