Description

Maceration and fermentation take place over a period of two weeks, with the help of our own yeasts, and biological decomposition is carried out. This is followed by a year's maturation in second-hand, reconditioned French oak barriques on fine lees. Bottled without filtration

It is medium-intense garnet red in colour, full-bodied and with a distinct nose of cherry notes combined with dark chocolate. A smooth, full-bodied wine.

The Frelih family’s tradition of viticulture and winemaking is more than a hundred years old. The Frelih family has always been famous for its autocthones cviček, and Josip Frelih was one of the first to bottle cviček.

The winery is located in the Dolenjska wine-growing region. The sunny location, the quality of the soil and the favourable climate are the best suited for the growth of traditional vines for the production of Cviček.

For decades, the tradition has been to grow grapes and produce wines of the best quality. In addition to Cviček, the house’s specialities are sparkling wines made according to the traditional method and wines matured in special oak barriques.
