Klet Brda Merlot single vineyard
Description
The grapes come from an independent terraced vineyard, the rootstock is classic brick, the position is very sunny, the vineyard age is 22 years.
After the harvest at the end of September, the grapes are picked into small crates and immediately taken to the cellar where they are split. This was followed by 15 days of maceration in a small wooden vinifier. After maceration and fermentation, the wine is transferred into 225l barriques, where it matures for 24 months. 40% of the barrels were new.
It is a deep ruby red colour with a purple tinge. On the nose there are ripe berries, oriental spices, a slight balsamic note, tobacco, complemented by vanilla on the palate. The palate is full-bodied, balanced, fresh, warm, with a long noble departure and a velvety finish.
