Description

After the harvest, fermentation and about 10 days of maceration, the wine is aged for 24 months in used 225l barique barrels.

It is deep ruby red in colour. The nose is ripe and fruity, reminiscent of cherries, raspberries, prunes, with smoky notes in the background. Dry, high tannins, pleasant acids, with a coffee-like, slightly jammy finish.

The farm is located in the village of Zalošče in the heart of the Vipava valley. Excellent locations and well-preserved vineyards are the greatest wealth and foundation for the production of good wines. They stretch on the slope above the Vipava River. The wine-growing tradition of the Saksida family goes back to the past.

Their vineyards lie on the slopes of Lepenik, Gmajna, Lisičnik and Špegla. Varieties which grow in their vineyards are; Chardonnay, Pinot gris, Merlot, Cabernet sauvignon, Ribolla, Pinot noir, Zelen, Barbera, Pinot blanc and Malvasia.
