Description

It appeared in Vipava in the 1950s and became the leading red variety. It features vibrant, deep, ruby red. The smell is ripe and fruity, reminiscent of cherries, raspberries, prunes, and marmalade scents are detected in the background. A velvety and harmonious taste, with mature tannins in the mouth for a long time.

It is suitable for years of aging. By ripening, it gains a smell of leather, coffee, chocolate ...

The farm is located in the village of Zalošče in the heart of the Vipava valley. Excellent locations and well-preserved vineyards are the greatest wealth and foundation for the production of good wines. They stretch on the slope above the Vipava River. The wine-growing tradition of the Saksida family goes back to the past.

Their vineyards lie on the slopes of Lepenik, Gmajna, Lisičnik and Špegla. Varieties which grow in their vineyards are; Chardonnay, Pinot gris, Merlot, Cabernet sauvignon, Ribolla, Pinot noir, Zelen, Barbera, Pinot blanc and Malvasia.
