Description

After harvesting, fermentation and maceration for about 14 days, the three varieties are aged separately in different oak barrels (French, Slavonian and Slovenian oak) for about 24 months.

It is ruby red in colour with garnet edges.The nose is red and dark red fruit, blackberry, fine spices, slightly pine resin. In the mouth, not quite dry, medium-bodied, stronger tannins, higher acids. Notes of cocoa, chocolate and vanilla in the background, finishing with a long and noble finish.

Saksida

The farm is located in the village of Zalošče in the heart of the Vipava valley. Excellent locations and well-preserved vineyards are the greatest wealth and foundation for the production of good wines. They stretch on the slope above the Vipava River. The wine-growing tradition of the Saksida family goes back to the past.

Their vineyards lie on the slopes of Lepenik, Gmajna, Lisičnik and Špegla. Varieties which grow in their vineyards are; Chardonnay, Pinot gris, Merlot, Cabernet sauvignon, Ribolla, Pinot noir, Zelen, Barbera, Pinot blanc and Malvasia.
