Primorska

The Primorska wine-growing region is located in the south-west of the country and comprises just under 6,300 hectares of vineyards. Although it is not the largest wine-growing region, it is the first in terms of wine production, accounting for 43% of the total. It is divided into four wine-growing districts: the Vipava valley, Slovenian Istria, Goriška Brda and the Karst. Primorska’s vineyards stretch from the sea to an altitude of 400 metres above sea level.
