Description

Every year after the harvest, this is the first wine from the Kristančič cellar. The harvest for Medana Novo takes place 10 days before the regular harvest. Maceration is shorter than for other red varieties, 4 to 5 days under Co2 protection.

It is ruby red in colour with a purplish tinge. The aroma is reminiscent of ripe forest fruits, while the taste combines a pleasant freshness with a fruity character. It is best drunk as early as possible, at least until the beginning of spring.

Medana in the Goriška Brda. A characteristic village on the top of the hill, with houses spread around the church. On the slopes, the vineyards face the sun. They are small, each has a slightly different orientation towards the sun and is planted a little differently.

Many of these vineyards belong to the family Kristančič. Kristančič’s farmer is one of the oldest in the Brda, and wine has been bottled under the family name since 1988.
