Description

Picolit is one of the varieties in Friuli that is the basis for sweet wines. Kristančičev proves that this wine is also very good on our side of the border.

The wine is amber yellow in colour. It has complex and intense aromas (chestnut honey, figs, raisins, vanilla, caramel ). The mouth offers a beautiful harmony between sugar and acids, the wine is harmonious, clean and long. The high alcohol (almost 15 %) does not disturb the beautiful harmonious image.

Medana in the Goriška Brda. A characteristic village on the top of the hill, with houses spread around the church. On the slopes, the vineyards face the sun. They are small, each has a slightly different orientation towards the sun and is planted a little differently.

Many of these vineyards belong to the family Kristančič. Kristančič’s farmer is one of the oldest in the Brda, and wine has been bottled under the family name since 1988.
