Description

Fully ripe, slightly overripe grapes were macerated for 7 days after harvesting in stainless steel containers. This was followed by racking and aging, half of the wine in concrete eggs and the other half in used wooden barrels. Bottled without filtration.

A stronger amber color, dry on the palate, with notes of balsamic and dry herbs, nicely rounded tannins, and pleasant acidity.

Ščurek

Goriška Brda is a hilly region in the far west of Slovenia. In this landscape there is the family estate Ščurek. The winery is located in the village of Plešivo, which belongs to the village community Medana.

Today, with the help of five sons, Stojan cultivates 24 hectares of vineyards. Most of the property is in the Italian part of the Brda, and the best positions are Grotišče, Dugo, Mahober, Jazbine, Jordana, Gredič and Kozlink.

Ščurek offers around 90,000 bottles of premium wine annually. Wine nicely emphasize the identity of the family and the country on which the vine grows. Ščurek: wine, art, story, family, tradition.
