Description
The grapes for the fresh red variety come from a younger vineyard planted on a flatter site. The attractive contrasts of velvety merlot and lively barbera are captured in harmony in this wine. After 14 days of maceration in open containers and controlled fermentation, it is matured in a large 1600L oak barrel for 18 months.
It is ruby red in colour with purple hues. The bouquet is more intense, reminiscent of juicy red fruits, ripe wild cherry, with fine notes of wood ageing. The Merlot gives a pleasant softness, while the Barbera provides freshness. The wine is dry, medium-bodied and has ripe tannins. With freshness and fruitiness, it proudly expresses the natural characteristics of the Vipava valley.
