The Golden Flower is the title of a Slovenian legend about the flowering fern. It is said to bloom every 200 years and whoever finds its flower is very lucky. The association with ferns is more than obvious, as their family name is Praprotnik. The fern flower is rare, as are the indigenous Istrian varieties represented in this wine.

The pine and canary ferns are macerated for a week and matured for a further three months in a second-hand oak barrel. The other varieties are aged in inox containers. In January, they are combined together and bottled after a month. The proportion of varieties in the wine is determined by the winemaker each year.

It is golden yellow in colour, the flower resembles a yellow fruit, a ripe apple. It is dry on the palate, with an oily texture, moderate acidity and a long aftertaste.
